Most people consider it a paragon skill, even if it's technically a warrior skill.
Also, most people don't really see a need for it.

Hell, when I'm having a particularly annoying time H/Hing, I'll go R/W and throw it in a barrage or needling shot build.

My ranger uses it all the time. So does my warrior, my paragon, and any melee character I have space for and want to. It's pretty much a MUST skill.

SY is not necessary. You can do any area without it. Just takes skill.

Personally when I run hammer I refuse to run SY!, since I don't want it taking away adrenaline from mah Urf Shakur chains, plus ideally entire mobs (or at least dangerous parts of it) are constantly on their ass so it's 100% unnecessary.
Now when I run axe (I pretty much never run sword), SY! is one of those skills that I throw on if I have nothing else that I want there. It's by no means necessary and I don't feel remotely obligated to take it for my party's sake. I've run my warrior H/H through a lot of HM areas (he's not my main) and at no time have I been in the middle of a fight and thought "if only I had brought SY".
All that said, if somebody specifically asks me to bring it, I will. It's just not top priority.

I run it all the time but mostly in dungeons or some tougher HM areas. I do like it, both as a build (godmode) and as a party buff, it's amazingly useful. But whenever it's not an actual necessity, I usually bring Earth Shaker, I find it a lot more fun keeping a group of mobs on their backs than to keep spamming Dslash > Dslash > Dslash > SY > Dslash > ...
In any case if I join a guild run and I usually ask what they prefer. On the extremely rare ocasions I run with a PUG, I always bring it.

It's pretty good but not half as strong on melee as a ranged character. You will randomly reduce damage and pressure but you won't be a reliable constant defense like a paragon - meaning you still need a decent backline instead of one monk.
But anyway the real reason is defy pain reduces the damage a Wammo takes and SY doesn't. >_>

Lets see. At max level for 6 seconds all other (not you, the warrior, who is supposed to be tanking/holding aggro) party members gain 100 armor.
Now I ask you seriously. What would you rather do? Use that adrenaline (it costs 8 adrenaline to cast) to fire off a ton of damage against your foes, OR make sure that guy in the rear has a lot more armor for 6 seconds?
You can protect party members by cranking their armor OR by killing the foe/s. Most of us choose to kill the foe. How is it you find all these foe/s getting past you so easily that you need to use that skill?
Typical warrior is meant to grab and hold aggro, so that party members can set up and assist in killing it. To draw and hold a line of defense.
Save Yourselves to me reduces a warrior to a Diablo 2 barbarian. Where they are looked at as merely characters who hides in the rear and shouts battle orders all the time so the REAL characters can do the killing.
That to me is not what a warrior is meant for and by you stating you never see other warriors using it, I would assume many think the same way.
Save Yourselves is a skill better suited for one of those party members in the rear to use in order to help you, the warrior, hold that front line easier and longer.

As a Ranger it is pretty much stapled onto my bar unless I am out capping skills from non-warrior professions. I think it is a great skill and use it all the time. The skill I use all the time and wonder why more people don't use it are the Asuran Summon skills. I use [summon ruby djinn] all the time, unless going against foes immune to burning. It is great having an extra player along during the whole battle and the Djinn actually tanks better htan many of the warrior henchies I bring along. I think it is a great skill too, but I digress, sorry.
In the end, SY! is a great skill in my opinion and works well for me

Not really I only used SY for 4 zones out of all the zones in GW and that was because my friend came as an imbagon

I use it with either Dragon slash or ES and it keeps the party alive quite a bit, even if I'm not maintaining it I'll use it whenever someone takes heavy damage which keeps people alive and keeps a lot of pressure off the monk's energy.
Most people don't bring it, however, because they're bad and/ or they're noobs and think that it's really worth spending that 1 adrenaline on a tiny bit of damage instead of making the entire party take half damage.
Usually when I get a random disconnect, I come back to find the entire party dead (when they were doing fine before).

I still feel its more apropriate for a paragon to spam it. Warriors are always not within shout range of its caster party memebers. Paragon are in the center of the battle thus their shouts affect everyone. You maybe able to spam SY in "godmode" but if you start looking at the green dots *on the rader 6/8 of them are not in your shout range. This makes it rather ineffective.
